A mother found passed out drunk in a bikini is facing child neglect charges, accused of leaving her young child alone at a playground Wednesday evening.
Maitland police said they found 33-year-old Karen Gunderlach passed out in her bathing suit near the stairs of her apartment building, which police are not naming.
A neighbor called 911 after seeing the woman's child alone at the playground just after 6:30 p.m. A swimming pool is nearby.
After police got Gunderlach to wake up, the police report stated she told them she thought her child was at home with a babysitter.
The Department of Children and Families is now investigating.
Gunderlach has since bonded out of the Orange County Jail.
