The Orange County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a homeowner shot a person who broke into his home.
It happened around 6 a.m. in the 8300 block of Fort Thomas Way.
Deputies have been canvassing this neighborhood, looking for the person who broke into this home.
The family was sleeping inside when they heard a noise.
The husband got up and discovered an unknown man inside the home. He then confronted the burglar and shot at him.
The suspect fled the scene.
Deputies said there were traces of blood inside the home.
The investigation is ongoing.
