The State Attorney’s Office has decided to drop charges against Rebekah Hammond in the former Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority investigation.

Hammond was the girlfriend of former state lawmaker Chris Dorworth.

She worked for the Department of Transportation but resigned after being indicted June 4 on a misdemeanor charge of violating the Sunshine Law.

Dorworth is still facing the same charge.

Former Expressway Authority board member Scott Batterson is also currently facing felony bribery charges.

Since the charges against Hammond have been dropped, she will now be able to testify against Dorworth or Batterson, if asked.
