Investigators believe an argument that started over accusations of missing money, close, and liquor sparked a violent quarrel that left a 23-year-old man stabbed eight times, and a teenager arrested for attempted murder.

Deputies say they responded to a call in Ormond Beach around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday in regards to a stabbing. When officers arrived, they found the 23-year-old victim on the front steps of the porch, covered in blood.

According to the police report, 18-year-old Raven Tuthill suspected the victim had stolen money, clothes and alcohol, and was determined to confront the victim.

Tuthill and the victim had an initial confrontation; deputies say that's when Tuthill left, only to retrieve a knife and return with the victim's 16-year-old cousin, insisting he would stab the victim if he "tried anything."

The juvenile told police that things got physical, and he punched the victim, his cousin, in the face.

While the two were on the ground, investigators say Tuthill hunched over the victim and started stabbing him repeatedly in the arm and torso.

The victim sustained eight stab wounds.

Initially, both the juvenile suspect and Tuthill were nowhere to be found. The juvenile returned to the scene around an hour later, and Tuthill was found hiding under a crib in the main residence on the property of the crime scene.

Tuthill is currently being held on no bond, charged with attempted felony murder. The juvenile was charged with burglary of an occupied dwelling and simple battery and was transported to the Volusia Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Daytona Beach.

Deputies said as of Wednesday afternoon, the victim was still being treated at the hospital for his stab wounds. The Ormond Beach Police Department assisted in the investigation because some of the same people were linked to vehicle burglaries in the city.
