A man is locked up in the Volusia County Jail for leading deputies on a chase.

Deputies said they spotted a reckless driver Thursday night in the area of Mason Avenue and Nova Road.

The vehicle led deputies on a chase, crashing through a chain link fence at a home on Derbyshire Road near Third Street. The car drove through the front yard before smashing into a wooden fence and trees.

Deputies arrested Kendrick Hodge for fleeing or attempting to elude and reckless driving, among other charges.

They believed 23-year-old Ian Maddox was in the car as well. Maddox is wanted for a weekend shooting that killed a man.

Daytona Beach police said 29-year-old Cory Kiser was shot and killed at the Circus Bar on Mason Avenue early Sunday morning.

Two others were shot in the arm and leg.

Deputies said Maddox was able to escape the vehicle on foot and elude capture Thursday. He remains on the run.

If you have any information on Maddox’s whereabouts, call Volusia deputies at (386) 248-1777 or Daytona Beach police Detective Nate Williams at (386) 671-5209.
