A Daytona Beach commissioner whose visit to a strip club back in March ended with a call to 911 has now been charged with battery.

Charges against Carl Lentz IV were announced Tuesday.

The Daytona Beach commissioner was at Club Tropic, a strip club in Daytona Beach. Lentz, a commercial realtor, told police that he was there to see if managers would sell the property. But an employee called 911 and said Lentz tried to solicit one of the women working there and when she said no, he threw a drink on her.

Lentz denied the incident happened to police and complained of a hurt arm.

The charging affidavit said Lentz "did intentionally touch or strike" the woman against her will. The affadavit also said Lentz threw an alcoholic beverage on or about "the face, head and body."
