A father and a son continue to recover a week after a vicious yellow jacket attack in Seminole County.

One week ago, they went for a walk in the woods with their dog. What happened next was like something out of a horror movie.

The two were walking in the woods near Trout Lake, on Mahogany Lane, when a swarm of wasps attacked them.

A nearby neighbor ran to help, and a driver passing by called 911.

It's been a long, painful road for David Alvarez and his 7-year-old son, Jordan. Last week, both were admitted to intensive care units for hundreds of stings all over their bodies.

"I was just driving down the road and three people just came out of the woods covered in bees, and yelling for help, and they're saying they can't breathe," a 911 caller said.

Paramedics arrived and worked quickly — while also getting stung — to help remove the bees and transport the two to the hospital.

Friends have set up a page to help raise money for the Alvarez family to pay for medical expenses. So far, the page has raised more than $3,000.

A friend of the family said David Alvarez is still in a coma and struggling to breathe. He is also suffering from a blood clot and pneumonia.
