Weather forecast: A look ahead

Minor changes in the forecast for the start of the work week. Westerly winds will diminish a bit, which will allow for an earlier east coast seabreeze to set up. Slightly cooler temperatures will be found along the coast, while storms will be possible inland.

We’ve had some strong storms for the end of the weekend. Reports of trees and power lines down in Flagler County as a warned storm rolled through. High temperatures were able to climb into the 90s, but we did get some nice rain cooled air in spots. Some storms will stick around early tonight, but start to weaken following sunset. The rest of the night will be partly cloudy and muggy with overnight lows in the middle to low 70s.

We will be looking at some hot temperatures as we move along through the week as we continue to top in the middle to low 90s in most locations. Scattered afternoon storms will be possible each day, although slightly less of a chance by mid-week. Humidity will also be an issue with heat index numbers in the upper 90s.

In the tropics, the low that we had been watching east-northeast of the peninsula continues to move out to sea with no development expected as it gets tied to/absorbed by a frontal boundary. The waters remain quiet across the Caribbean and over the open waters of the Atlantic, with no formation forecast over the next five days.

We will continue to monitor it with your Tropical Updates at :21 and :51 past the hour.
