Orange County may soon be threatening legal action against the Osceola County Expressway Authority to stop the expansion of a toll road.

The Osceola Parkway extension is the issue at hand, and Orange County leaders say they want to make sure the public has a say in it.

Homeowners in a subdivision off Narcoossee Road are worried about losing their homes.

The Fells Landing neighborhood could be knocked down to make way for the new toll road.

It's a new and recently developed neighborhood, with some homes still in construction. Several other subdivisions would be effected as well.

The project is still in the planning phases but most all of the plans include having dozens of homes being taken by Osceola County and demolished to make way for it.

Some of these homes are in Orange County, but county leaders have had no say in the project. Until now.

Which is why commissioner Jennifer Thompson wants the county’s legal team to look into filing an injunction against the Osceola County Expressway Authority to stop further planning.

Mayor Theresa Jacobs has also questioned their authority to take away people's homes, and said the people should have a say.

Thompson has called a press conference here this afternoon, where we may learn more about Orange County’s plans.

They have also scheduled a public hearing for next month.
