City Council members are scheduled to meet Tuesday in Melbourne to consider revoking some tax exemptions for businesses that have failed to create new jobs.
The council is expected to take a final vote to revoke ad valorem tax exemptions for the following four businesses:
- Carbolosic Corp.
- DRS Sensors and Targeting
- Satcom Direct
- Xun Energy
Council members said the businesses have not created the new jobs or capital investments they promised.
Melbourne provides exemptions to businesses to help attract new and expanding companies in the city.
