Inmates in the Flagler County Jail will now be allowed to receive letters from family and friends.

The jail had previously only allowed postcards, but that's changing.

A lawsuit was filed in 2013 challenging the ban on incoming letters.

Now the ACLU says a judge has signed off on an agreement to end the policy.

Current Flagler County Sheriff Jim Manfre had this to say, “I am satisfied that this agreement places the Sheriff’s Office in line with the present state of the law and does not cost any taxpayers money for the faulty policy of my predecessor.”
