A giant oak tree came crashing down on top of a home in Lake County during the worst of Wednesday afternoon's storms.

The home is located on Sullivan Road, in Clermont.

No one was injured, but the homeowner, Phyllis Muller, said she knew it was only a matter of time before the giant tree was going to topple over.

"I drove down the road and I got a little inkling that there was a problem when there were trees all over the road and branches and I thought, 'No, no, this isn’t happening,'" Muller said. "So, as I turned, I saw the tree and I knew it."

Muller said the old oak tree came crashing down around 4 p.m. at the Morning Star Stables. The tree fell on the garage, so the rest of the home was not damaged. The home also acts as a business location.

"But, we've had trouble with the oak tree before," Muller said. "Last year, a branch fell down on the side of my garage and missed the house. I told my husband last year that (the) tree is going to fall. I just know it's going to fall."

The home never lost power, and firefighters told Muller their home is safe to stay in overnight.

"I actually was at the grocery store and my husband was at a golf tournament," Muller said. "Thank God nobody was hurt."

The Mullers said they will have their insurance company assess the damage Thursday morning.

Also on Wednesday, the National Weather Service reported a wind gust of 43 mph at the Orlando International Airport.

Severe thunderstorm warnings were issued for several Central Florida counties as the storms moved across the area.

Families and first responders across Central Florida are dealing with damage control Wednesday after a line of strong storms damaged homes and sparked several wildfires the night before.

Late Tuesday, lightning sparked a brush fire in Brevard County at the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, near Peacocks Pocket Road. State Road 402 was closed for several hours, but has since reopened.

Lightning was also blamed for sparking three brush fires in Volusia County, just north of Osteen Maytown Road and east of State Road 415.

Severe weather also ripped off roofs and damaged car ports at two homes in Zellwood, Orange County. One homeowner had to be treated for injuries after slipping and falling.
