A body was found floating in the Intracoastal Waterway around 12:20 p.m. Monday, according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.
The body was discovered near the back of a home on the 6300 block of River Road, in New Smyrna Beach.
Deputies and paramedics arrived to the scene and confirmed the victim was dead at 12:51 p.m.
The investigation is ongoing. More information will be released when made available.
