A month-long investigation ended Tuesday with the arrest of an Osceola County man on child pornography charges, deputies said.
Lawrence Raymond Alt, 44, was arrested by Osceola County Sheriff's Office detectives after they served a search warrant Tuesday and charged him with 11 counts of promoting photo/movie sexual performance of a child.
The investigation began in mid-March when detectives received information that an individual -- later determined to be Alt -- was receiving pornography via the Internet. After further investigation, detectives discovered the pictures were possibly being sent to a computer at a residence located off Pine Drive, in Kenansville.
During the search Tuesday morning at a home off Pine Drive, Alt was taken into custody and cooperated with detectives, deputies said.
Detectives took Alt's computer and other items into evidence. They located hundreds of child pornography pictures. At least 11 of the pictures were sexual in nature of children as young as infants to as old as 12, deputies said.
Based on Alt's statements and evidence, he was arrested and booked into the Osceola County Jail.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending, deputies said.
