Lake County’s annual law enforcement torch run for Special Olympics Florida took on an extra special meaning Monday.

It was held the same day as the Boston Marathon.

Dozens of police officers from around the county joined special athletes in the event to raise money for Special Olympics.

But other runners in Boston today were on many people’s minds.

The run ended at Special Olympics state headquarters.

Broadway will also take part in the final leg of the run as the torch makes its way into the state games at ESPN Wide World of Sports next month.
