Authorities in Marion County responded to a call yesterday for an accident involving a train, and a pedestrian.

The victim, James Willis Bare III, was pronounced dead on the scene.

The conductor told detectives the train was northbound, the victim was walking southbound on the tracks and appeared to be mumbling to himself.

The conductor made multiple attempts to warn the victim by blowing the horn, and at the last second Bare attempted to jump out of the way, but it was too late.
