Two people are dead following a hit-and-run accident in Orange County on Tuesday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Two cars were traveling southbound on Hoffner Avenue, in Edgewood. A Toyota Camry being driven by Carl Sala, 63, tried to pass another car but clipped it while doing so, troopers said.

That's when a chase ensued. The driver who was clipped followed Sala in an attempt to get the license plate number.

In an attempt to get away, Sala's vehicle rounded a curve, lost control and overturned, troopers said.

Linda Sala, 63, who was a passenger in the Camry, was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where she later died.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Carl Sala was having complications from a medical procedure from earlier in the day and was driving back to the hospital when he was involved in the crash.

Sala died Wednesday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
