New photos released Thursday reveal more about why U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson's wife said she filed an injunction against him.
The pictures show bruises Lolita Grayson said she got after her husband pushed her against a door at the Windermere home the couple once shared, causing her to fall.
Ms. Grayson, who filed an injunction Sunday, said she then pushed her husband in the face to protect herself.
The congressman's attorneys, however, said Lolita Grayson was bruised while doing taekwondo.
Grayson's attorneys said video of the alleged incident, released earlier this week, proves he is actually the victim.
Rep. Grayson, D-Fla., represents Florida's 9th Congressional District, which includes all of Osceola County and parts of Orange and Polk counties.
Juan Lopez, a staff member for Rep. Grayson, said he was with the congressman on Sunday when he tried to pick up some things from the house. Lopez said Grayson asked him to come and videotape if something happened.
"He pretty much said, 'I'm worried she's going to hurt herself and say that I did it,'" Lopez said. "Under no circumstance was he going to show up at this home alone."
Lopez said he videotaped the entire interaction, but part of the video that showed the couple's children was not released.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident. Alan and Lolita Grayson are due in court Thursday, March 20.
