A bankruptcy judge in Tampa ruled Tuesday that a defamation case against Casey Anthony will continue.

Attorneys for Anthony appeared in court, where the judge heard arguments on whether she should be forced to answer questions from Zanaida Gonzalez's attorneys.

Gonzalez filed a defamation lawsuit against Anthony saying that she ruined her reputation by claiming a nanny with a similar name kidnapped her daughter Caylee.

Casey Anthony eventually went on trial and was acquitted in her daughter’s death.

One motion presented to the judge was a request to ask Anthony specific questions about why she told police Zanny Gonzalez had her daughter when she knew that wasn’t true. The judge denied this motion saying it could possibly incriminate Anthony on criminal matters for which she has already been acquitted.

A second motion was to hold Anthony responsible for damages against Gonzalez which would be considered a debt and part of her bankruptcy case. The judge granted the motion and a hearing to depose Anthony on the matter of defamation will be scheduled for a later date.

On Jan. 23 Anthony was questioned in a deposition related to the bankruptcy proceedings and defamation case.

In the deposition, Anthony still maintained that Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez, the baby sitter she claimed took Caylee, is a real person and that she met her through a friend at Universal Orlando. Keith Mitnik, Gonzalez's attorney, questioned Anthony during the deposition. Anthony was being represented by Cheney Mason.
