Three women are charged with child abuse after slapping, kicking and choking a Volusia County teen girl.

Thirty-nine-year-old Janine McGhee, 32-year-old Moriyah McGhee and 30-year-old Ishiyah McGhee told the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office they were disciplining the girl because she'd been suspended from school.

The three women were arrested after a witness saw them chasing the 14-year-old outside a home on the 500 block of Pemberton Avenue and called deputies.

Deputies arrived to find the girl in her underwear.

The incident began earlier in the morning after a meeting at the girl's school regarding her suspension. In the parking lot, deputies said the women slapped the teen, shoved her against the cars and choked her by grabbing the girl's necklace.

Once they arrived back at the home, the teen tried to run away to avoid further violence. The women chased and caught the girl, grabbed her by the hood of her sweatshirt and choked her again.

Deputies said they then forced the teen into a home where Janine then demanded the girl fight her. When she refused, that's when they made her take off her clothes so "she would feel the discipline."

They continued to punch, kick and beat the victim with belts until deputies arrived.

The teen was taken to Florida Hospital Fish Memorial in Orange City to be treated for multiple lacerations and welts.

Janine, who lives in Daytona Beach, and Ishiyah, of Deltona, were arrested at the scene. Moriyah, who also resides in Deltona, turned herself into deputies.

The teen remains in the custody of the Florida Department of Children and Families.

It is unknown what the relationship is between the women and teen.

All three have bonded out of jail.
