With the warmer weather, beaches in Volusia County were busier than normal over the holiday weekend, officials said Saturday.

Seven people were rescued out of the ocean without incident Saturday, said Capt. Tammy Marris, of Volusia County Beach Safety Ocean Rescue.

Moderate rip current conditions are expected at the coast in Volusia County on Sunday.

With more beach-type weather over the coming days, beach officials expect even larger crowds. More lifeguards are expected at the beach.

"It was a great beach day with the warmer weather and water (temperatures) we have an above-average crowd this time of year," Marris said. "Remember, always swim in front of a lifeguard."
