A man remains locked up after Volusia County deputies say he crashed right into a home.

It happened after 11 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19 at a home on the 1100 block of San Jose Boulevard.

After 41-year-old Ronald Strohl rammed the home, deputies said he tried to flee the scene on foot.

He was apprehended across the road, but not before becoming combative and kicking one of the deputies in the face.

The deputy was not injured.

Strohl was charged with driving under the influence, battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer without violence, criminal mischief, resisting an officer with violence and refusing to submit to blood alcohol testing.

He remains in the Volusia County Branch Jail on $8,750 bond.
