Earle the bloodhound, one of the Brevard County Sheriff's Office most dedicated members, is retiring after seven years on the force.

The sheriff's office had a retirement party recently for Earle, who served as a member of the Corrections Canine Unit.

During his career, Earle has responded to 162 calls for service, including child abductions, homicides, armed robberies, burglaries and missing persons.

He was recently nominated for a statewide award for finding a missing 14-year-old.

Earle is being adopted by one BCSO's deputies and his family so he can enjoy a quiet retirement.
