Hundreds of surfers in Santa suits are expected to flock to the Brevard County coast on Christmas Eve as part of an annual holiday tradition, but this year, they're hoping to catch some air waves early with a viral video.

This week, the nonprofit group Surfin Santas of Cocoa Beach released a music video featuring dozens of red-suit singing and dancing to "All About the Beach — Cocoa Beach," a parody of Meghan Trainor's hit single, "All About that Bass."

The video is to promote the 5th Annual Surfin' Santas gathering at Cocoa Beach. This year's event is set to start at 8 a.m. on Christmas Eve — Tuesday, Dec. 24 — on the beach at Minutemen Causeway, in front of Coconuts on the Beach.

The gathering is a charity event to raise money for Grind for Life, a Cocoa Beach-based organization that provides financial assistance to cancer patients and their families, and the Cocoa Beach Surf Museum.

The Surfin' Santa tradition started in 2009, when founder George Trosset decided to paddle out for a Christmas Eve surf dressed as Santa Claus, along with his son, George Jr. and daughter-in-law, Britteny.

Since then, it has become an annual gathering, growing from 19 Surfin' Santas in 2010 to over 200 in 2013, a record for the most Santas surfing at the same time.

This year's event is expected to draw roughly 500 Surfin' Santas, according to the Beachside Resident, and thousands of spectators to witness the spectacle before Santa dries off and gets ready to ride around the world on Christmas Eve night.
