A man is dead following a home invasion and investigators are trying to track down his killers.

Orange County deputies said three men, dressed in all black and armed with shotguns, forced their way into a home on the 6550 block of Berg Drive around 10:45 p.m. Sunday, which is just north of Zellwood.

The men demanded money from the resident inside.

Deputies said the intruders hit the victim on the head with a blunt object, sustaining fatal wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man's adult son was also inside at the time, but was not injured.

The robbers drove off in a vehicle, but the make and model are not known.

Homicide and forensic crews worked through the night, searching for clues.

Lisa Skowronski has lived across the street for the past four years and said there are always people coming and going from the home.

"Lot of partying, lot of people hanging around front this weekend," Skowronski said. "Usually they stay in the back. It was a little different, so I'm not surprised something happened there this weekend."

Investigators are treating the home invasion as a random incident.

"If it's the person that I think passed away, he was a retired musician and a really nice guy," Skowronski said. "That would be heartbreaking if it was him."
