All lanes of the Florida Turnpike in Osceola County are back open after a cattle truck rolled over early Wednesday morning and cows got loose on the roadway.

The Florida Highway Patrol closed all the lanes in both directions as crews worked to corral the cattle.

FHP said around 2:20 a.m. a semi-tractor trailer hauling approximately 130 calves overturned on the northbound inside shoulder of the Florida Turnpike at mile marker 231 and several calves got loose on both the northbound and southbound lanes.

The driver of the semi-tractor trailer suffered minor injuries.

Osceola animal control responded to the scene to get the calves corralled.

Fed-Ex truck crashes

A little over an hour after the cattle truck overturned, a second accident happened about a half mile away.

Troopers said at approximately 3:25 a.m. a Fed-Ex semi-tractor trailer was traveling southbound approaching the backed-up traffic and failed to slow or stop and collided with another semi-tractor trailer.  The impact caused a collision involving a total of 3 semi-tractor trailers and 1 passenger vehicle. Six people were injured.

Both crashes remain under investigation.
