A 27-year-old Marion County man has been indicted for the murder of a 1-month-old infant.

According to documents, Kendall Blyden was charged for the child's death. Blyden originally told investigators the child fell from a crib, but doctors determined the injuries did not fit that scenario.

When Blyden was confronted with this information, investigators say Blyden changed parts of his story, saying the child fell from the crib, then when running from the room carrying the child he dropped the infant and fell on top of it. Blyden said the baby's head hit metal protrusions on a nearby lounge chair before he landed on the child's head with his elbow.

Blyden has been charged with first degree murder and aggravated child abuse. He is currently being held in the Marion County Jail on no bond. He will be re-arraigned on this new murder charge at first appearance Wednesday morning.
