Black Friday is being renamed Bear Friday in Lake County this week.

Park Rangers realize many parents will spend much of their day shopping for children's Christmas presents. But they hope they take an hour out to give them an important lesson as well.

We're talking about living with bears. Bear and human interaction is becoming more common.

The “Living with Bears Activity for Kids” will be held Friday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Paisley Community Park on County Road 42.

This event will teach children about the habits and activities of bears during the fall and winter seasons, and how to protect themselves while living in bear country.

For details on how to register for the event, head to the Lake County Parks and Trails website or call at 352-253-4950.
