The Florida Highway Patrol is asking for the public's help in identifying the driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run crash Wednesday night in Marion County.

A maroon Nissan Maxima was traveling northbound on Northeast Jacksonville Road around 10:25 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, according to a report.

Dylan Bryant, 20, was also traveling northbound on the same road in front of the Maxima. Bryant was on a scooter.

According to a witness, the Maxima appeared to be traveling at a high rate of speed just before the crash. As both vehicles approached the intersection with County Road 329, the Maxima struck the back of Bryant's scooter.

Bash was ejected from the scooter.

The Maxima struck a fence and overturned onto its roof, troopers said.

The driver of the Maxima got out of the car and fled the scene, troopers said.

The scooter caught fire. Bryant was pronounced dead at the scene.

Anyone with information on this crash is asked to contact Cpl. Shaun Lattinville, of the Florida Highway Patrol, at 352-732-1260, Ext. 236, or call the Florida Highway Patrols' Jacksonville Regional Communications Center at 800-387-7290. Callers should then ask for Marion County dispatch.
