Do you have a library book that may be a little overdue?
If you’re in Flagler County part, if not all, of that late fee could be waived.
The library system has started a popular program for the holidays: Food for Fines.
The library will waive $2 in fines for every non-perishable, unexpired food item donated over the next six weeks.
It’s capped at a total of $20 or 10 food items per person.
All food collected will go to the Flagler County Food Bank, which is always in need of extra food this time of the year.
And a reminder: this isn’t like a bank.
You can’t bring in canned goods in anticipation of future late fees, although random donations would be appreciated.
