A special delivery was made to Orlando Health on Sunday that will help its multi-million dollar facility.

A crane had to lift the 58-ton accelerator which will house itself in the Proton Therapy Center along Orange Avenue.

This accelerator is one of only six in the entire world.

It will provide cancer patients with a form of radiation therapy which uses proton beams.

Proton therapy is a big advance over prior radiation treatments.

"Proton radiation is a type of radiation that could be very much more precise and can stop exactly where we want on the patient's tumor," said Chairman of Department of Radiation of Oncology Daniel Buchholz.

Orlando Health is expecting to begin treating patients at the Proton Therapy Center in early 2016.
