On Monday, we shared an updated look at the Skyscraper "PolerCoaster" coming to International Drive.

Wednesday, the man behind the 570-foot-tall coaster took Scott Fais along for a ride. As Scott shows us, the Miami developer is also on the lookout for more rides and attractions at the annual IAAPA Expo.

In the heart of the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions' annual Expo, you'll find the movers and shakers of the theme park industry. Yet few of the 27,000 people at the Orange County Convention Center this week are undertaking a project the size of Joshua Wallack's.

"Orlando is the attractions capital of the world," said Wallack, managing principal of Orlando's planned Skyplex complex. "We are leading the renaissance of International Drive as a premier dining, restaurant, night life and entertainment district."

To do that, Wallack is planning to bring the 570-foot-tall Skyplex to I-Drive.

"You come up and start wrapping the tower. You go all the way up, past 500 feet, and then you come around and start coming down," Wallack explained.

The Skyscraper ride, which will take guests up and around the tower, will also sport an indoor entertainment center at its base.

In order to fulfill those needs, Wallack is shopping at the IAAPA Expo.

"We're looking at the latest video games and simulators and attractions that can go into an arcade like ours," Wallack said.

At times, he's on the move and pauses briefly to lose his shoes. He checks out everything from a Ninja Climbing Wall to family rides that can be placed inside, along with food, like a Canadian Beaver Tail.

Would something like that sell well inside Skyplex?

"This is the kind of thing that is fresh," Wallack answered. "It's hot; it's delicious. There are thousands of people there every day, and they are going to want to have little snacks they can eat by hand."

The Skyplex will cost $250 million to build. Gatherings like the IAAPA's brings Wallack face-to-face with the companies that can supply his needs.

"We've been touring around," Wallack said.

The COO of the Mango's Tropical Cafe franchise, Wallack said he expects Skyplex to open in 2017 on the corner of Sand Lake Road and I-Drive.

Wallack will first open a new Mango's Tropical Cafe on I-Drive in the summer of 2015.
