Want to be one of the very first people to step foot inside the new Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts? We have new info you need to know about the (totally free!) grand premiere week events.

The venue opens in just one week.

Ribbon Cutting and Media Preview, Thursday, Nov. 6: Ribbon cutting is outside in the Seneff Arts Plaza. It goes from 10-10:50 a.m. After that, the public can join the media on a tour inside the new performing arts center.

Community Open House, Saturday, Nov. 8: Another free opportunity for you to tour the performing arts center from noon to 6 p.m.

Free Concert, Sheryl Crow, Saturday, Nov. 8 @ 8 p.m.: Nine-time Grammy winner Sheryl Crow is giving a free outdoor show. You don't need to reserve your spot. Just show up.

Community Open House & Family Festival: A spokesperson confirms that there's no longer an outdoor film Sunday night. Instead, a free festival is happening from noon - 4 p.m.

Meanwhile, we've been getting a lot of inquires about the status of the Round Building located in front of the performing arts center. Quite frankly, it's a n eye-sore right now. Its partially deconstructed, surrounded by piles of debris.

A City of Orlando spokesperson says the tear-down is going slower than expected. That's due to the delicate "honeycomb" belt that they're going to save and re-purpose. But the goal remains to have that whole thing down in one week.
