An Orange County corrections officer is accused of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Laura Hindman, 49, was arrested Wednesday by Altamonte Springs police.
Police have not released the exact circumstances surrounding the charges against Hindman. They would only say that she turned herself in. An arrest report will not be released until Thursday.
Hindman is being held in the Seminole County jail without bail and will appear before a judge on Thursday.
Orange County Corrections Dept. placed Hindman on paid administrative leave, pending the outcome of the investigation. She's been with the agency since 2007.
