Two people are shot resulting in ones man death in Brevard County.

It all happened around 1:50 on Sunday at the 300 block of Riviera Boulevard in Indiatlantic, and has investigators wondering if it’s drug related while neighbors are worried they could be next.

“It’s too close to home. It’s too close to the school. It’s too close to where all the kids are skateboarding,” one woman driving home near the shooting explained.

With the shooting just steps away from the school, in a busy neighborhood, many people News 13 spoke to told us they were frightened.

According to investigators in the early afternoon Sunday two people were shot. While one man died from his injuries, the other was transported to the local hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.

They also told us the house, and those who live there, have been involved in drug activity.

“It appears this incident is narcotics related. And that the residents were the target. For a robbery or some other kind of incident that took place,” said Major Tod Goodyear, Brevard County Sheriff's Office.

We spoke with one woman, Marina Harris, who lives right next door, and she explained the people who lived there were very friendly but wondered about all the activity.

“I know they have people coming in and out. So I am not doubting that it probably had something to do with drugs,” said Marina Harris.

Now investigators are trying to find out who may have been involved.

They now believe there may be several people may have been at the scene and say they are actively working to find out who pulled the trigger.

For now, neighbors just hope they find someone soon.

“This is crazy! I mean in my neighborhood? That’s like questionable to me. Like is this going to happen to somebody else?” Harris asked.

Investigators are still trying to piece together what exactly happened here.
