If it's hard for you to remember gas prices below $3 don't worry, you're not alone.

Drivers across the Orlando area are seeing similar signs; $2.97 and $2.95 for a gallon of gas. Triple A says the decrease is partially because the price of oil per barrel is dropping and production in the United States is on the rise.

Right now, Triple A says the average price per gallon in Orlando is around 3.17 so when motorists see numbers in the sub-$3 range, they can't help but jump on the opportunity.

Anthony Eric Davis says he got a call from family members letting him know prices were plummeting at an Orange County gas station.

“So I’ve been coming since Thursday, yes sir!” Said Davis with excitement.

He says it makes a big difference in his family budget.

“The way the economy is right now every little penny counts,” said Davis.

The owner of the station says it was definitely a positive move. He says bringing those numbers down has brought the number of customers way, way up.

“Its crazy, you can say it's like one car is pumping the gas and 10 [more are] waiting behind him,” said station owner Saif Imran.

Imran says with nearly all gas stations paying the same or close to the same price for wholesale fuel – motorists can expect the trend to continue. At least for now.
