A Duke Energy worker in Marion County is hospitalized after deputies say he came in contact with a power line at a sub power station.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office says on Wednesday he was testing some equipment at the power station located at 4940 W HWY 316 in Reddick and came into contact with a test line which had approximately 10,000 volts of electricity.

Witnesses told deputies they began CPR on the man until medics arrived and transported him to Shands Hospital.

His condition has not been released.

The U.S. Occupational Safety & Health Administration is investigating the incident.
