The Orlando-Orange County Expressway Authority has a new director. By a vote of 3-2 Tuesday morning the board chose State Rep. Steve Precourt to be the new executive director of the agency.
The authority overseas toll roads in Orange County including the Beachline, State Road 408, the East-West Expressway, State Road 528, the Orange County portions of the Central Florida GreeneWay and State Road 417.
The appointment comes after the previous director, Max Crumit, was ousted in September. The surprise move came after Crumit received a glowing review for his efforts to right the agency from previous scandals.
It also prompted an investigation by the State Attorney's Office on allegations the vote was pre-arranged in violation of open meeting laws.
