Hundreds of people lined up early Tuesday morning for a free turkey giveaway sponsored by an Orange County law firm.
The Pendás Law Firm is giving away 1,200 turkeys on a first come, first serve basis at its building located at 625 E. Colonial Dr. in Orlando.
This is the firm’s third turkey giveaway this week in Florida. On Sunday the firm was in Fort Myers giving away turkeys and on Monday in Tampa. In all, the firm is giving away a total of 3,500 turkeys.
Over the years, the event has continued to grow so the law firm starts preparing for the giveaway at least six months in advance.
For the attorneys, it’s all about giving back to the community during the holiday season.
“We still have so many families in Central Florida facing financial hardships due to the struggling economy. For some families, it has reached the point to where a traditional Thanksgiving turkey dinner is not possible. It is for this reason that I have decided to give away 1,200 turkeys as a way of showing these families to keep their faith,” said attorney Luzardo Pendás.
This is the fifth annual turkey giveaway the firm has held in Central Florida.
