Many folks wake up Sunday morning to find the newspaper in their driveways, but this week, some Brevard County residents found something different: Recruitment fliers from the Ku Klux Klan.

Neighbors in a section of West Cocoa said the KKK fliers were in plastic bags, along with a rock, each left at the foot of the driveway of several homes.

Luke Setzer said he called it complete garbage. "It concerns me that this kind of presence is in our neighborhood."

Michael Rodriguez said he was shocked and offended by the effort to get more people involved in the KKK.  He said the neighborhood is diverse.

The flier reads "Our race is our nation," and includes a picture of a hooded Klan member. It also includes a phone number and website for the Loyal White Knights of the Ku Klux Klan.

Some people we spoke with said they felt threatened and were too scared to speak to us on camera.

Cocoa police said they received several calls Sunday morning from concerned neighbors, but say legally there is nothing they can do and that these people are not breaking the law.

They said they feel for residents that are disturbed, but that the group has the right to distribute the information.

Police said there were also reports of the fliers at homes in Rockledge recently.

"It's really embarrassing that the United States still has to deal with this issue," Setzer said.

When we called the phone number on the flier, the Loyal White Knights said they use them as a recruiting tool, and they claim a few people called them with interest in joining their group.

Police said the best thing you can do is throw out the flier if you don't like it.

By the time we got to the neighborhood Sunday afternoon many of the fliers had already been moved from the driveways.
