A young mom and her sister are in jail accused of abandoning a 1-year-old at an Ocala Walmart.

It's a story that brought shock and outrage to the Ocala community, and now there's video of exactly what happened Friday at the Walmart on Silver Springs Road.

Allison Niemeyer, 20, and her sister, Laura, were attempting to leave the store when a loss prevention officer stopped them, saying she'd seen them stuff a bathing suit and shirts into the diaper bag they were carrying for Allison's 1-year-old son.

In the surveillance video, Allison bolts out of the store and continues in a full sprint through the parking lot. Seconds later her sister wrestles herself away from the employee, leaving the child all alone at the front of the store.

“The loss prevention officer calls to her ‘are you going to come get your child,’ she basically responds ‘it’s not my child,’” said Ocala police Sgt. Chas Meier.

Police waited, but no one ever came back and the baby was turned over to the Department of Children and Families. The sisters were finally arrested the next night.

So where did officers finally find the mother and her sister? At a local nightclub, dancing.

“It's almost to the point where you don't have words for it, what kind of parents are they?" asked Walmart customer Staci Shirley.

DCF placed the boy in foster care.

Niemeyer's criminal history includes a home invasion with a firearm while she was a pregnant teen. DCF said it's quite possible the boy will never will live with his mom again.

Both women are being held on $7,500 bond.
