Walt Disney World is known for celebrating all kinds of special occasions.

So what better time to leap at a chance to celebrate than a leap year?

For the first time ever, the Magic Kingdom is staying open for 24 hours straight, from 6 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29, to 6 a.m. Thursday, March 1.

Hundreds of guests gathered in front of the Magic Kingdom before sunrise Wednesday, waiting excitedly for the park to open for "One More Disney Day." They even received a special pair of Mickey Mouse Ears to commemorate the historic occasion.

Guests who manage to stay up all Leap Night long will be treated to extra entertainment, including a "Dance the Night Away Party" at Cinderella Castle.

"One More Disney Day" isn't just happening in Florida. They're also celebrating on the other side of the country, at Disneyland, where that park opened three hours later, at 6 a.m. Pacific Time.
