New developments in the Case against George Zimmerman.

Zimmerman's mother said the media is to partly blame for how her son is portrayed.

In her first television interview, Gladys Zimmerman talked exclusively with CNN's Piers Morgan last night.

Gladys said she believed her son is innocent in the deadly shooting of Trayvon Martin. She also said her son is not a racist.

“I believe in the judicial system. I believe from the beginning that, you know, he is innocent, and I mean, the media had played a big role against my son. They had portrayed him in a bad, bad picture. But there is justice in America, and I believe in justice,” Gladys said.

Gladys chose not to show her face during the interview.

George Zimmerman's defense team is preparing for its next legal proceeding, a hearing set for Oct. 19.
