Prosecution and defense in the Case Against George Zimmerman were in court Friday for the case of the former neighborhood watch leader who killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.

Both the prosecution and defense filed their own motions. The judge is expected to make a ruling on an emergency motion defense attorney Mark O'Mara filed last week.

O'Mara and Zimmerman's legal team asked that no one talk to witnesses before they are deposed. They filed the motion last Friday when they were in court and the judge ruled Trayvon Martin's social media sites and school records would be handed over to the defense team.

The judge is expected to rule on this emergency motion regarding witnesses.

Also, the judge will hear another motion filed by the prosecution.

Assistant State Attorney Bernie de la Rionda has asked the judge to impose a gag order against O'Mara.

In the filing, the prosecution claims that O'Mara has been using a website, social media postings and holding news conferences to influence potential jurors.

In April, O'Mara launched a website, Facebook and Twitter accounts. O’Mara contends he doesn’t discuss any specific evidence and has been compliant with all bar rules.

"What we have done is deal with a case that when it got to my doorstep is already in the throes of an enormous, overriding, tidal wave of misinformation," said O'Mara.

"But, not to be influenced by biased comments by attorneys. Because if not, what's the point? We would just argue it in a public square as opposed to the courtroom. Why would we have a rule of law? Why would we have a courtroom," argued prosecutor De la Rionda.

Judge Debra Nelson delayed ruling on the gag order, but did order that witnesses will have not restrictions before they are deposed by the defense and that Zimmerman's legal team can request specific files or reports from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigations.

The next court date is scheduled for Dec. 11.

Zimmerman is charged with second-degree murder in the February shooting and has pleaded not guilty.
