Tampa police are searching for a man they say attacked a woman in a hotel restroom.

Officers said the incident happened Tuesday morning when a woman working at the Tampa Marriott Hotel on Westshore Boulevard entered the restroom on the first floor. 

The suspect walked in behind her and threatened her with a knife, according to police. 

After a physical struggle, the woman was able to reach out for help on her work radio. The man ran off. 

She received a small laceration to a finger from the knife, which was later recovered. Detectives described the suspect as a Hispanic or black male with a  light complexion, approximately 6-foot-2, unknown weight, but he had a solid pot belly, no facial hair, short black curly hair and spoke with no accent.

The man was last seen wearing a gray, hooded sweat jacket zipped up, blue jeans faded in the thigh area with brown dirt stains, and neon yellow gloves with black palms and fingers.
