Hurricane Maria continues on its northwest track. It’s passing the Turks and Caicos and will then make a more northerly turn, staying east of the Bahamas and well east of Florida.

A few days from now Maria will start to weaken as it gains latitude, going into cooler water and more headwinds. It will eventually slow down next week and could come close to the mid-Atlantic, but at this time our most reliable guidance shows Maria staying just east of the U.S. mainland before ultimately being shoved eastward late next week.
