A man was rescued from his car after it went into the river in downtown New Port Richey.
Officials said the driver crashed into a car head-on, then veered off into the river.
Police were able to get him out of the car and found him uncounscious. The man was transported to the hospital, where family members said he was responsive.
Police said the other driver has minor injuries.
Main Street was closed for a time Saturday afternoon but reopened shortly after 3 p.m.
No other information has been released.
