Pasco woman, 18, charged in social media threat to kill her former teacher

An 18-year-old New Port Richey woman has been arrested after threatening to kill her former teacher on Facebook.

According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, Desiree Zio was taken into custody on Sunday after authorities said she posted on the social media site that she was going to find the River Ridge High School teacher and fatally stab her. 

Zio is a high school senior who attends classes at Marchman Technical College in New Port Richey. 

Authorities said Zio admitted to posting the threat. She has been charged with making a written threat to kill or do bodily harm. 

Pasco County Schools spokeswoman Linda Cobbe said Zio will face disciplinary action that could include expulsion.
