Police are investigating a fatal shooting at an east Tampa motel.

According to authorities, a woman was shot and killed Monday night at the Travelers Inn at 2523 East Busch Boulevard.
Officers arrived just before 9 p.m. to find a woman unconscious with a gunshot wound. At that time no one else was in the motel room, police said.
The woman was transported to an area hospital where she later died. Authorities have not released her name as of yet.
Police say the incident does not appear to be random.
The investigation is ongoing.
