Saturday featured another early start to the rain and storm activity, with highs in the upper 80s and lower 90s.

After a stormy Saturday for some, quiet weather has returned to the area. We’ll see partial clearing for the remainder of the overnight, with morning lows in the low to mid 70s.

Rain and storm chances continue heading into Sunday. Expect morning sunshine with activity again developing as early as midday. Some storms may once again produce heavy rainfall and intense lightning. Highs for Sunday will be in the upper 80s and low 90s.

Boaters heading out on the water on Sunday will have favorable conditions early, but storms will likely by midday and afternoon.  If you are heading out to the beaches, swimmers and surfers will face a low risk of rip currents. Conditions remain poor for surfers with an east-southeast swell and wave heights at 1-2 feet.

The threat for rain continues Monday, with a 50 percent chance of activity primarily in the afternoon. Highs for Monday will be in the low 90s.

Drier air will begin to push into the region midweek. This will reduce the coverage of rain activity and also allow warmer temps to return. Highs Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will hold in the low 90s.

The lower rain chances will likely persist into the end of next week and possibly next weekend.

In the tropics, all remains quiet in the Gulf, Caribbean and open waters of the Atlantic. No major activity is expected over the next five days.
